A beaver can stay warm even when wet.  They have thick fur that they waterproof by collecting castoreum (not to be confused with castor oil from castor beans) from scent glands near their anus.  They comb the castoreum through their fur with a modified claw found on the inside toes of each back foot.  FYI, I’m referring to the beaver - Castor canadensis.  What were YOU thinking?
