EVIDENCE THAT SCIENTISTS HAVE A SENCE OF HUMOR

EVIDENCE THAT SCIENTISTS HAVE A SENCE OF HUMOR

I was on a field trip in the Ozarks when a student pointed out this flower.  “That is a Clitoria mariana also known as the butterfly pea” he said.  I had a hard time keeping a straight face!  Look at the photo and tell me that the scientist that named this plant didn’t have a sense of humor.  The Clitoria is a member of the Fabacea (bean) family.  It tends to occur in acidic soils in the southern part of the Ozarks.
