EVIDENCE THAT SCIENTISTS HAVE A SENCE OF HUMOR
I was on a field trip in the Ozarks when a student pointed out this flower. “That is a Clitoria mariana also known as the butterfly pea” he said. I had a hard time keeping a straight face! Look at the photo and tell me that the scientist that named this plant didn’t have a sense of humor. The Clitoria is a member of the Fabacea (bean) family. It tends to occur in acidic soils in the southern part of the Ozarks.
